A guitar is known as a wooden musical instrument with a long fretted neck. It refers to a variety of chordophones that were used in Europe around the beginning of the 12th century.
The English term was adopted from the Spanish word Guitarra. And so was the German word Gitarre, as well as the French word Guitare.
The Spanish word Guitarra came from the Latin word Cithara, which was adopted from the Ancient Greek Kithara.
Khitara is used in the Bible and is known as the Harp.
